Deck to match amber

I know there are a few threads on this, but every deck I search that's listed in those threads ends up being NLA.

Sooo, what CURRENT decks are there that match the amber lighting of our precious e30s? Something relatively cheap (150ish) would be ideal.

Retail is about $250.00 and the OP is looking for something around $150.00 and the Eclipse has a light blue display, not Amber, at least according to the listed specs.

Search sony ctx gt in google images and see what models pop up. There was one of them in Walmart not too long ago and it was within your budget.
And if you are crafty enough like me, you will tear the face plate apart and stick a strip of red filter gel on the screen to make it all red. PM me if you need some, I got a roll.

do you know if its hard to change the color of the numbers along the bottom for the presets and and menu buttons. i have a sony unit with adjustable screen color, but the other buttons are permanently lit blue. i want to tear the face plate open but i'm scared of breaking it.

But the key buttons can be illuminated in 6 different colors...

I spent a few months looking for a reasonably priced HU that had the ability to illuminate both the display and control buttons in Amber and is Black with White lettering. The Clarion HU I have now was the best match I could find.

I got mine for $150.00 last summer and newegg has it on sale for various prices below that now that it is last years model.

The only negative is that the display is hard to read with the top down.

I wish Alpine made something that met my requirements, but they don't.

I'm not a big fan of Clarion HU's, but I'm happy with this one but would have preferred an Alpine.

just stick with the stock cassette.. mmm
