    Central locking relay

My central locking system is working intermittently. I think the problem is with the relay behind the driver kick panel. I can hear buzzing on occasion when the door locks do not operate. Does anyone know the part # for this relay or have a photo of one. I would rather have a replacement in hand before I remove everything necessary to access it.

    Thanks,
    Dan

The buzzing is the door lock actuator, roughly $100-110 from the dealer or BMA.

    Part numbers:

    Driver's front door - 51261372594
    Driver's rear door - 51261373184
    Passenger's front door - 51261373183
    Passenger's rear door - 51261373184

While you (or your mechanic) are in there, it's good to inspect that none of the rods are bent or damaged. I went ahead and replaced my lock cylinder (~$70) as well because it was quite difficult to turn the key to lock/unlock the car, not a bad idea to address that as well while you're in that general area. Go ahead and replace some of the rubber grommets (52208238999, four per door IIRC) as well, they tend to contribute to some of the buzzing noise.

    Hope that helps.

The sound is not coming from the door but from the kick panel area..

I had the same buzzing noise in my car, it was when I went to lock the doors from the driver's door. The doors would lock and buzz for a second. If we're talking about the same buzzing noise, I think it's an actuator and not a relay.

Pull the door panel off when you have a chance and give everything a once over to make sure it's working like it should.
