    i need a good e30 electrician or someones advice

    Ok, so i bought an e30 a week ago. i love it. but one thing is holding me back from inspection, my left turn signal. The right one works, but left one just makes a loud buzzing noise. Today i went to a junkyard and all i could find was a relay from an e21, so i took that. I came home put it in and the right turn signal worked but when i did the left turn signal my dash lights flickered really fast and the fuse blew. Must have done that like 4 times, i kept trying over and over. Please do help, i want/need to get my e30 on the road, i love driving it.

      If not that then it's the switch. Find a wiring diagram and start reading. Jump the wires at the switch that should activate the left blinkers. If they work then, you know it's the switch.

        You have a short in that circuit...

        I would start looking at the sockets and work my way in.

            i dunno why you would think it's the switch. the speed at which your turn signals blink is dependant on the resistance in the circuit, less resistance means faster blinking so if...

            A: the signal is blinking really fast and;
            B: the fuse blew

            you obviously have a short, start checking the wiring

                yeah i got another switch and all but it isnt working. i had that strong feeling it was a short but sometimes things end up being something simple instead of the bullshit stuff you go through looking for a solution to the problem. I.E. ends up being a switch and not a short after you rip the whole dash apart looking for a short
