    Aftermarket Headunit - Buggin Me...

Ok..so here's what it is...I've gone through a fair part of this website and e30tech.com but can't find an answer...so I want to replace the stock stereo in the e30 with something aftermarket...now I've already taken the stereo out and realise that the hex screws help secure the unit in the dash...I've installed a few head decks in my previous jap cars with ease because they have mounting brackets but of course there's no such things in the e30's, so how have people mounted the headunits without them knocking around or falling out..?? Honestly I'm kinda stumped and any help would b greatly appreciated.

I'm fine wiring it up it's just securing the damn thing that has me beat...

Headunits come with sleeves that you insert and secure to the dash by bending pre-cut tabs.

true, but it doesn't seem to me like the dash fascia has enough of a lip protrusion at the back for those tabs lock on securely...that said it does seem the next obvious solution so will give it a go when i decide on a worthy headunit

There is enough for the sleeve to grab onto. You would be surprised how well those things hold on/in.
