Hey is it possible to run a cd43 in an e30. I hate the obnoxious look of 90% of the cd players out there and wanna keep the classy look of the interior, but the whole no cd player/ipod connectivity is killing me.

Some guy on ebay has 5 of them right now 199 each probably as good a price as you will get. I am really considering it but then I would want one for each car.
If your going to just go Ipod you can probably save some money with a C33/43 and wire the Ipod to that since you probably won't use the CD player after that anyways. Use the search button theres a couple really good posts.
Or find one from another car that used the CD43 they are all higher end cars so you probably won't save much money if at all but it could help you locate one. I heard the amber doesn't match perfect but I don't think they made different ones for different cars, who know though?sigpic

IMO, the best way to do an iPod is using the controller made by Dice, Peripheral, PAC or a few others. These controllers give some control over the iPod, seem to sound OK, and work great in general.
the only issue is that the aftermarket harnesses do NOT have the wire needed (pin 7, IIRC) to use the controller...so you either get to hack the stock setup, or find a harness out of an E36...which should be no biggie.
But, yeah, if ipod is gonna be the main source, just go with the cassette.
Or, use the stock deck and an iPod controller like the "Drive + Play 2" from harman/Kardon. They sound great running with aftermarket amps, etc.

These were all on the first page of my search, try using advanced search.
The C43's wont fetch you too high of an expense but the CD43's will run anywhere from 100 if you're lucky to 350-400. Make sure it just says BMW Business class on it, it doesnt have a M stripe that is a Range Rover one with a new sticker put on. That is if you care or not since they will be the same unit! There is some modifying that needs to be done to the HVAC panel but most people just dremel it off. Also if you buy one and just test fit it you will see the lips that need to be removed.
