    Stupid Central Locking

I cant figure out my central locking system. I've tried switching out different parts and have traced wires and cant figure anything out.

Here's what's going on. I can lock my car from the drivers door. Yes, my drivers door lock actually works. When I unlock it from there, it only unlocks that door. In order to unlock the passenger door, i have to go to the trunk or the passenger door itself.

On my 85 318, I turn the trunk lock to the Right and it locks everything. Turn it to the left and it unlocks everything. On my 88 325, turn the trunk lock left, it does nothing. Turn it right it locks and then immediately unlocks everything. Passenger door does the same thing

Cant figure out how to make this system work properly. Like i've said I've changed out actuators with the one's from the 318 that work properly in that car and they behave the same in the 325.

Anyone have any insight on this situation? Someone said that the car was "double locked" and that I needed to unlock the car from the passenger side. Didnt work. I plan on getting the keyless entry very soon but in the mean time i need my central locking to be working properly.

Answer- The lock tumbler is worn out. Picture the tumbler case having a ball bearing on the side. And when you rotate the key the bearing rotates as well, that in turn pushes a lever that moves the motor. Which sends a signal to the control unit to actuate the other motors. What happens is the bearing digs a furrow in the case and won't actuate the motor. It's in one of the articles in e30world.com . I was trying to figure out why my 91is was doing the same thing. Apparently BavAuto sells an upgraded replacement. Hope this helps and wasn't too confusing.
Add- I don't remember if it pushes or pull the rod, it was August when I was fiddling with this. And I know how snotty some folks are if your don't describe something just right.
