            i have everything all wired up now... i just need to figure out how to get to my source wire for the head unit.. is the best way just to pull out the whole HU assembly?

                  yeah pull it out. My RCAs are run on my passenger side from the trunk through some hole at the bottom of the rear seat (when its taken out) along the door (under the carpet) and behind the glove box. There are other ways too.

                    i ran mine from the drivers side of the car under the dash b/c thats the way the speaker wires were run when whoever installed the HU wired up the speakers... how do i pull out the HU?

                      There are these metal clip type things that are pushed up on the tops and sides of the main case that need to be pushed down and then it will slide right out. It takes a while and can be frustrating to get right. but...

                        i think, depending on the install, you might also have a couple bolts to deal with on the sides. if it doesn't come out of the brackets very easily, take off the trim panel connected to the steering wheel and pull out the obc and see if there aren't bolts. i had to have my eclipse deck installed by the dealer to be covered by warranty and i haven't removed it, but when i took out my cluster i was pretty sure they had it bolted in. i dunno, hopefully it won't be too hard.
                        I retired my E30 for now...

                          ok i've finally gotten around to doing this, where exactly does the RCA cable hook to my headunit i need help ASAP b/c i need to be be somewhere in 1 hr and all i have left to do is hook up the RCA cable to my headunit

                            you plug them into the pre-amp inputs on your aftermarket deck

                              ok i got it.. yah i dint know where the hookups were b/c the book i got from the PO didnt say anyhting about the hookup points and there were no markings on the HU so i guessed one and it turned out to be the right one...
