the other day something shorted out under my dash cuasing smoke. after this happends i had no dash lights or passenger rear running light. i could only find one wire that had been burnt, and i replaced it. that only fixed some of the dash lights but not the guage cluster. yesterday while i was driving anything i would do electrical, ( blinkers, heater,brake) the radio would turn off and then turn back on and my subs woulnt work yesterday either... can anyone help?

how are the amps on your battery? I wonder if some wires got burnt through and are causing a draw that eventually drained your battery really low - making it reject your subs/radio and other more demanding electronics..

its like 9.2 or something. i did find a few wires that are burn through though. i just went out to try and fix it again and found more burnt wires. its like the main harness plug or something, there are like 2 or three wires on both ends that are melted to shit. i dont even know what caused it to burn.Comment

i took my dash off and what i would say is the main harness ( big plug on one end and the other end is all the plugs that go to the guage cluster and hazards, defroster ect.
it has obviosly been rewired by some idiot becouse there is like 2 pounds of electrical tape. some of the wires are all taped up and 75% of them are burnt or bare and the hole thing is wrapped in tape. the wire that seems the most burnt is a grey one with a red strip,, not sure what it is. anyone think its worth trying to get a new harness or should i just keep it for parts and find another one?Comment
