I bought mine for $150.00 last summer on sale at Fry's and it sounds great and it looks pretty good, especially at night with the matching Amber illumination.

Even during the day, the Black w/white lettering looks better then most of the other HU's out there that are silver, red and blue or some other hideous combination of colors that has no place in an E30 dash.

I also swapped out my rear speakers for some cheap 5.25" Blaupunkts I had laying around and added an inexpensive low-profile amp/subwoofer under my seat (Boss Bass 600) and it sounds great.

For less then $300.00, I was able to substantially upgrade the sound system in my E30

I highly recommend this HU and it looks much better in the car then in the pics.

The pics make the display look blue, I assume the color can be changed?

There are about 10 preset colors and you can adjust the RGB to something like 728 different color combos.

The "Amber" setting matches the BMW dash lights and LED's.

                  Couple of daytime pics:

Notice in the first pic that I'm running the USB and the AUX inputs thru the gap in the dash under the HVAC controls and have a 8GB thumbdrive plugged into the USB.

The HU also controls iPods and Sansa MP3 players.

You can also run the cables to your glove box and stash your MP3 player in there as the cables are about 3.5' long.

The only real negatives is the display is hard to read with the top down and that the HU doesn't mount flush with the dash.

If I remember, I'll post some night time pics once it gets dark out.

If someone wants one of these for a bit cheaper, I have one that I bought from Newegg just over a month ago. I did a quick test install in my E30 M3 and have used it for two hours max. It works perfectly and sounds very good-I just personally like the look of the two Alpines that I have better.
