instrument cluster not working. help needed.

i have done some searching but have not come up with any good answers. maybe its just because im not looking in the right places or something.
the instrument cluster in my '87 325e is not working correctly. the fuel gauge works and so do the turn signal lights and warning lights, but nothing ells works. i do not know what to look for. i have removed the cluster, checked the fuses (i believe the fuse is fuse #10) and checked the ground wires above the gas peddle. they all seam to be fine but i could be wrong. i think i will put a new 7.5 fuse in the #10 slot. i do not think it is the gears in the instruments them selves because i don't think they would all be bad at the same time. any pointers or tips would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks guys.

I'm not running any SI board at all on my Motometer cluster.
All I had to put in was a jumper wire in for the temp gauge.
From the 2nd pin to the 5th pin I think it was.
As it is, many people opt to bypass the board with a wire connecting the temp sender and the temp gauge on the main board and that allows them to run without that board at all.
does anyone know exactly how to bypass the si board on my '87 325e? i dont want to randomly do stuff to my gauge cluster. can anyone tell me how to do it? is it the 2nd to the 5th pin, and if so where are these pins located on the board? thanks!
