Tach and econo gauge active with key off?

I finally fixed the tach in my m60 swapped coupe but not the tach and econo gauge are still active with the key switched on and removed, if you turn the key they both go back to their starting points.
Has anyone come across this before?
I imagine this is going to cause a drain on the battery so would like to sort it sooner rather than later...
