E30 sub in trunk- best way to get sound thru

So here is my current setup, the panel in the trunk has been removed but there’s a regular seat still. What’s the best way to get sound forward and into the cabin? Sub is basically brand new and has about 30 mins of time on it. I’ve read I need to baby it for 20 break in hours.

if I remove the foam from the back seat (fashion> function), would the sound travel thru easier? Anything else I can adjust to get better sound overall?
I’d say the current system is 8-9/10 but I feel like it could just come up a step.

Removing the seat and the foam isn't necessary, below a certain hertz, I think 80? Sound is non-directional so the sound quality isn't going to be any different. However, what I think you're trying to achieve is the sub 'feeling' which is either the vibration of the car (wouldn't change) or the air moving (would change). To be honest, I think the negatives will far outweigh the benefits of what you're trying to do. You might even be better just remove the rear speakers to improve the 'flow'

I went through this whole thing in my Toyota Cressida a number of years ago, which had a sealed boot like my E30 does, I just ended up sound deadening the boot like crazy and removed the rear speakers and it was great. FWIW, I will be putting rear speakers and a sub in my E30 as I don't think the benefit is worth not having a rear stage at all

If you sub is boxed and powered properly you shouldn't have any issues.
I've got a single DVC 12" wired to 2ohms with correctly powered amp and it bumps even on its lowest setting it's too much sometimes.

Sounds good, was just looking to see if I could improve it at all!
