E30 Indicator Stalk wiring

Hi I’m trying to work out what each of the wires coming out of the indicator stalk does. I’ve looked at various wiring diagrams but it still isn’t very clear how it’s supposed to work. I was just surprised that there are so many wires, I count 11 and only four functions: L, R, Beam, BC Button.

I have worked out the following but with the indicators I’m lost. Although I have worked out what pins do what on the flasher relay.

• Beam (Yellow & White wires)
• BC button (Brown wire with blue connector goes to ground when pressed)

To give some context I’m not using any factory loom.

I found the same as you.
WT - power from high beam relay coil
YL - ground high beam relay coil
BR - ground
GN/YL - power turn from flasher relay
BU/RD - left turn
BU/BK - right turn

What other colors are there?

Can someone look at my list and describe what each wire should connect to? I’m still a bit confused Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
