    Alpine ERE-G180

Ok my friend has an Alpine ERE-G180 that i was going to buy, When he tested it he said it powers on but no sound except static. Does anyone know about this Eq and is it fixable?

    Thanks

Its worthless unless you enjoy dancing lights and an increase in the noise floor of your system.

Why? Other than subwoofer outputs, its pretty worthless.

You dont need an eq with the 7618. The 7618 was one of two headunits that Alpine offered in their "DigiMax" line. It was compatible with other "DigiMax" components like the 3618 time alignment/crossover and there was even an eq but I cant remember the model number. With the other "DigiMax" components, the 7618 can be used without RCA cables and instead used with Alpine's M-bus cables which is a balanced line more or less. Otherwise, without the other "Digimax" stuff, its just a normal head unit...

Also, the 7618 is a pre-amp, so no internal amp for any speakers. Maybe that's what your friend meant?

EDIT: It probably would be best to use an EQ along with this HU since it only has one pre-out. Using an EQ to break it up into F/SW or F/R/SW would be a good idea.

Hmm, good point on the internal amp but I'm almost 100% positive the 7618 has front and rear outs.

*edit* I will check the PTG when I get home.
