My tach will not roll past 5 grand ever! the needle just holds at 5 exactly whenever i attempt redlining it. any clue what the problem is??

You speak as if this is a regular occurence.

Have you tried swapping in another tacho?

I have a minty, fully functional 5k eta tacho should you need it (lmk).

I've Got the M20B25 is the thing. the car is fully functional past 5k, but the tach doesn't stay with the motor revolutions after that. It's a permanent occurance. i have not tried to swap it out with another tach quite yet, i'm in the process of gathering the means. Thanks for the input guys
