Vert trim piece - how to install

I have tried to get this in, but can't get old the old trim piece out and don't want to break anything - anyone replaced this in a vert? See pic. Thanks.

Got it - doesn't look too bad to remove the panel. :-)

      Thx.

There are 3 (IIRC) plastic inserts with metal inserts inside the plastic inserts that hold that piece on. There isn't any metal clips and you don't have to take anything apart to pry it off. Very similar to how the BMW badge is attached.

You're thinking of the piece on the boot lid. The piece shown you do have to take the panel off and remove the metal clip.

Why are those pieces even there? (The ones on the boot lid, not the flap ones the OP is talking about) I took them off my car because they looked like they would fall off. My guess would be to help with weatherproofing but why not just make the tonneau cover solid and not have those clip on plastics which might fall off?

Could be there for protection when raising and lowering the lid if it hits the top. Mine was loose when I got my car, but new grommets fixed that.

Also, your sig picture is a little on the big side, could you downsize it some please. http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=56950
