Found Vert Low Miles - How much should I offer?

Is this thread still around? A low mileage car will be worth more to someone who likes low mileage cars, and less to someone who wants to pay less for a car which has more miles on it. With all these cars which have 100k+ or even 200k+ miles selling for what is in reality too much money, a car which only has 26k should fetch an ass load of cash. But someone who would buy a 150k mile car wouldn't see the value in a 26 year old, 26k mile car. It's hard to place a value on the car itself. I would just ask the lady what she wants for it and assure her you'll make a good home for it and leave it at that. The value of her e30 is probably the least of her worries... -
Back in my day we'd rub two nickels together and call it a buckle. Then we'd run down to old man Carpenter's store and buy enough candy to fill up a bushel sack. Hey you kids, get off my lawn!Leave a comment:

Is it so simple that we all missed it??? Ask her what she wants, tell her what you are willing to pay and two thing will happen either she will keep her car or you will buy her car...........That's it I'm running for President haha

Call EAG and see what they would buy it for. Offer her 2/3rd's of that and see where you end up.Leave a comment:

e30s have gone up in value because the COUPES and SEDANS can be used as drift cars, autox spec e30 cars, the verts and especially autos arent that desireable. Low mileage is great but its still an 89 if it had ZERO miles on it we all know it needs a lot of work, those seals aint cheap..
i...just.....
seals: about 300 bucks if you do it yourself.Leave a comment:

This is very true. Softtops in my area are commanding some prices when they're in solid condition and unmolested. There's a really nice Bronzit Cab (albeit an auto) that's going for around 5k. Looks very well taken care of!^ Wrong. Plenty of people are in the market for "survivor" quality e30s. They want stock or mostly stock cars and will keep them that way. It's all the ones that have been cut up for track/race/dorifto/stanced or rusted away that drive up the prices of the few remaining clean original ones. Obviously, some of these people prefer softtops, so they're in no way excluded from the upswing in prices.Leave a comment:

Found Vert Low Miles - How much should I offer?
I threw $5k out to the guy at work. This is going to be a long conversation by the time it reaches his mother, sinks in with her etc. I predict weeks to months but I will keep poking. And I still have to inspect it so that figure could change easily. I told him about the timing belt and he had no idea it was an issue. Oh boy I hope they don't blow it up.

Note: I'm not saying that to screw the little old lady over. She's welcome to go online and research what it's worth. That's just how these things work.Leave a comment:

I bet high KBB would be what she'll go online and find. Or you can bring a print out to her. She'll think it's a fair deal, and since (last time I checked) KBB is low, you'll get a great deal, and you'll both be happy.
EDIT: Looked it up for you. KBB only goes back to '92. But it has a e30 92 vert with 25k in excellent condition at $2005
Offer her $2006 ;)
Best advice yet. Never go in with enthusiast market first.Leave a comment:
