    Trunk swap help

Has anyone replaced their trunk with a coupe one? My light was leaking and I swapped mine today.

Wondering if anyone has a bypass for the brake light on the check panel now that the light is gone? Looked for a write up, couldn't find one. Thanks!

I did find a write up, not in the vert thread. Someone said jump the two green wires together. Can anyone confirm that it works?

I need to do this as well. I'll have to go search for that write up again

Be careful. The high centered stop lamp is required per fed regs. If your car requires inspection or a well versed enforcement officer calls you out on this.. or in a crash... could cost you!

Well in RI the law is that you need to have at least one and all the ones you do have need to operate properly. I looked into it. So I'll be fine during inspection. And unless I bring it to H2Oi or something, I can't see getting pulled over just for that.. We'll see I guess.

Cool. It does look super clean, I admit.

It is my understanding that this law was passed in 87, so older cars are not subject to that.

I'm interested too. I believe we need to put a resister in place of the bulb that was powered.

I still have not located the write up, but if memory serves me, It was about connecting 2 wires, I dont recall a resistor. I am not saying there was not 1 used.

Those are neither of the ones I found, but unfortunately I didn't subscribe to it cause I'm an asshole. I'm looking for it, I'll let you know if I ever find it again.

I have swaped my trunk, Just connect the trunks lights and forget the wiring for the third brake light and everthing will work great!

But if you have a check panel, the brake light light will be on if your third brake light doesn't work.
