I scavenged parts off an e36 cab and was able to make them work. Also replaced my front headrests with E36 units.
Heres the best pic that I have:

The newer brackets aren't plug n play. They are the same shape and I was able to customize them to fit. One of the slide inserts is also squared off inside making the e30 headrests not fit. This insert can he scavenged from the donor car's front headrest or another car. I think that I then used either an E36 or E34's rear headrests. I cant recall specifically which one. They all generally fit.Last edited by PDXPeter; 10-25-2018, 09:29 AM.Leave a comment:

According to realoem, the front and rear headrest are the same part number.Leave a comment:

I measured vert headrest I had laying around, they had the skins removed but measured around 4” at the base and 3” at the top. The coupe headrests I measured still have the skins on and measured closer to 4.75” base and 4” at the top. Could just be what I have laying around but my upholstery guy is telling me they’re different.

I found them to have different post angles but see my note below.
Maybe I got mutant headrests but I found 'vert rear headrests to have different rear post angles. I also had a mix of e30 & E36 headrests around so I may have grabbed an E36 pair by accident.Last edited by phenryiv1; 10-24-2018, 03:27 PM.Leave a comment:
