Just picked up a 90 325ic and the lid won't open. I tried pulling the cables on the lid (the lid handle broke) but it still won't open. Its there any other way to get it open?

So....I've had this problem on a few cars I've owned over the years. The first thing I would try is take the broken pull handle completely out of the car so the hole is completely open. Get two small pairs of vice grips to grab the cable ends and pull them both at the same time. Simultaneously, have a friend carefully pry up the lid if it doesn't pop up on its own.sigpic
