Cabriolet seal on the 3rd brake light

Apparently NLA, and they leak. Did they always leak or is it that the seal has gotten dried out over 30 years in the elements?
Does anyone have a template or an actual part from a car they are breaking?
I want to see if I can reproduce the seals.
Unless someone has already done this.

Also, the cap on my windshield washer bottle does not prevent fluid from splashing out. Can anyone recommend a seal or gasket?

    Thanks

That seal on the third brake light on cabriolet trunks is notorious for leaking, especially after 15, 20, 30 years on... Mine was fine initially. The car is original to my family and I have known it for 30 years. Eventually the bulb and the wiring inside will take on water and usually fry, and then water is pooling in there and can't get out. Then it starts dripping, then streaming into your trunk and you wonder why everything in your trunk is wet.

I also think the *plastic* third brake light housing is ugly. My solution instead of trying to make my own seal was that I bought a 325iS trunk lid and swapped it. No more passageways for water or ugly plastic housings.

I am currently looking for a sedan or coupe black trunk lid without a spoiler -- I think the most ideal trunk lid has no holes at all so it will never leak and I like the clean look. If someone reads this and has a nice one they want to swap for one with a spoiler, lmk!
