lmfaoooooooo i try to shop around . i know it sounds like a poor thing to do but i dont care if i can save 1$ id like to save it. 1$ here and 1$ there adds up. i saved a crap load no? paid less then 40 cents on the dollar if you add it all up

i really wasnt looking to drop 400 on a rack ill probably never use lol i bought it more for the cool factor then anything.

Fact is, back when I thought spending a fortune on cars was fun (it truly was) I traded my 911 for a 550i cause I needed a roof rack.

i bought everything through ebay except the crossbars and the control towers. i found those on craigslist.
i took some pica of what has been delivered so far i havenet recieved everything yet and a couple of items were purchased on my gf account as my paypal was down for a wk

48" crossbars (2) 30$
6 locks (pack) 30$
38" Fairing (35 anniversary edition) 40$
crossbar pads (2) 20$
viper bike mounts (2) 60$

so it cost me about 200$ for everything. not bad? i can provide pics if you guys dont believe me as everything is still in original packaging except the used stuff i stated.

I've kept this A6 around since it swallows 10' 2x4s but this makes more sense. What I'm seeing is this minus local hardware:

Control towers $79@pair so $158
#4 Landing pads 39@ pair so $79
48" cross bars $89

W free shipping it's $443. Is that what people are paying or is there a source Im not seeing ?

With OP's post there shouldn't really be any questions. Control towers are control towers. DO NOT get Q towers or rail grabs. You just need to make sure you have the correct landing pad for our hardtops.

Hello guys I've started gathering the Yakima parts needed for this mod. I just want to confirm that the Yakima control towers are the correct ones. I have stumbled upon a Yakima part number foe the Control Towers of #00214. Can someone please confirm before I make the final purchase tomorrow? Thank you and Merry Christmas

With OP's post there shouldn't really be any questions. Control towers are control towers. DO NOT get Q towers or rail grabs. You just need to make sure you have the correct landing pad for our hardtops.
