HELP.... Broken pins on W.A.R. chip

Purchased a WAR chip from a fellow member and when I received the chip it had 4 pins bent to hell. The member claimed it had never been used but the box was open and torn to shit not a single bubble in the bubble wrap was in tact and everything was held together with rubber bands in one big bundle beneath the bubbless wrap. I did best i could with my fat fingers and unsteady hands with the smallest tools i could find but failed to save the pins. Has anyone here ever repaired the pins on their WAR? If so could you help me out and point me in the right direction? And before you ask yes i tried to contact miller directly but after three emails and no response i quit trying. The time differance from the states to here in Germany doent help with making phone calls either.

You need jedi soldering skills, but it can be done. You need 100% silver solder, and super-fine soldering iron, a grounding strap for yourself, and helping hands magnifying glass - like this: http://www.pjtool.com/helpinghandswmagnifyingglass.aspx

With the pin held in place, you will quickly hit JUST the pin and the broken section of the chip with a tiny spot of silver solder. DO NOT bridge any pins, and do not keep holding heat to the chip. Literally it should take half a second for you to hit the pin with solder and have it stick. Use flux to be certain it sticks.

I have no clue what the WAR chip looks like. But I rebuild circuit boards here at work. Send me some pictures or post some up and I can see if I can help.

Call miller bro. If you ship it in they will attempt to replace the pins for you or may swap it out.

It sounds like this guy fubar'd it trying to remove it. I've been there, and I consider myself to be someone who knows what hes doing. The issue is that they're using machined pins, not the little fine pitch header pins of other aftermarket chips i've seen. They fit tighter and when they let go from the socket, they let go at once.
