Mark D 91 or 93 chip?

hi guys,

im in the process of getting a chip but haven't decided yet which one to choose and i need an input from experts. the consensus of pipz here is to go for MD chip but im not sure which one to choose, the 91 or 93 octane with stock injectors. i always use 95 octane gasoline and sometimes 97.

i have 89 e30 325i manual (converted from a/t). many things has been changed like suspension, fuel filter/pump, air filter, fpr, clean injectors + seals, etc.

may i know what's the difference between the two chips and which one is better? im not planning on additional mods to my car, i just want an extra pull on 1st and 2nd gear.

Where are you getting 95 and 97 octane gas? Go with 93 octane on the east coast. I have had both MarkD 91 and 93 chips and there is a appreciable difference but do not buy 93 if you won't always have access to 93 gas.

i asked mark and havent heard from him yet.

i live in the philippines. shell here have 93 octane unleaded, 95 octane premium and 97 for v-power. other petrol company like petron offers 100 octane called blaze.

note: i use my US address under my username :-)

is MD 93 needs 98RON fuel? or 95RON is okay?

I know this is an old topic, but it doesnt seem like it was ever answered.

For the Mark D 93 chip you would need 97RON and higher gas to use.
For the 91 chip you would need anything above 95RON.
