Megasquirt assistance

I will be getting a E30 318iS and I want to migrate away from the AFM and to my understanding the Megasquirt option may be what I have to go with. I'm ok with paying the cost and install. What my concern is the programming what dose it come with is it a pretty much here is a chart and fill it out or what please let me know.
