Stock MAF chip vs WAR chip

Hi all a year ago I purchased the Miller MAF kit and tight on funds just went with the "stock" tune chip they had for my set up. I am wondering if anyone else started with this then upgrade to the WAR chip and noted $390 worth of benefits.
I realize the huge advantage of being able to reprogram has I add or make changes to the engine. But, truth is I don't plan on making any further upgrades other than refurbishing the rest of the motor.
Other than the MAF I have #19 injectors and I believe I am still running Rich. I have since done a complete ignition overall with IE perf plugs copper plugs gaped to OEM and OEM dist./ cap.
I'm really trying to to decide if my current tune is bad enough to justify another $390 chip.
Thanks for any tips or opinions.

    hey.
Are you reading the plugs? or what is showing you that something is lean?

If the the miller maf and their own tune is actually making it too lean then why even
think about doing the war chip. There's a dyno out there done by diyautotune showing
?3?hp difference with and without stock afm vs straight tube. It's on the site, check it out.

Sell the maf, put the stock afm back in and get a chip from turner or markd.
What it's worth is up to you.

WAR is shit. If you're never modding your car again (I don't believe you) then an off the shelf chip is fine.

Personally, I'd investigate something like MegaSquirt. It's simply glorious.

        War

        Hi All,

I have had a WAR chip on my E30 325i for around 4 years with a Miller MAF and the car has never idled correctly and it was extremely rich until I purchased an Innovate data logger and dialed back the fuel. The car has never ran as hard as it did with the AFM and a decent tune. I was going to get it tuned by a local tuner but with the idle issues I have I am looking at other options.

Each to there own you have to do your own research and find what works for you.
        Cheers
        Leigh
