help with miller maf ECU wire harness 12v signal splice/retrofit

i have an early model (87) 325is with a 173 ecu. i just want to make sure bmw didnt change wire colors or pins between the late and early models.

According to miller's pdf instructions i should be taking pin 12 (grey/white) and cutting it near the connector to solder it to pin 37 (red/blue) .

just to be clear, there will now be nothing coming out of pin 12 now. im just connecting it to a power?

theres no difference. it was an easy install
