Making a pnp adapter for ms?

I plan to make an in depth write up and diy for making your own pnp ms one a little more up-to-date then those seen on e30tech by goathumper and such

Those old D connectors were never meant to handle any current. So yea.

Gotta try any thing once especially if I can have all the things to build the perfect ms for less then the price of a pnp

really, the hard part isn't building the hardware, it's tuning it. you don't want to be struggling with the tune and realize later it was a mistake on the hardware side that you made, or something came apart.

Wiring it up with an old connector works, but I wouldn't do it that way again.

actually, if you want I have an adapter board I need to sell. it was made years ago by goathumper. it has the 55 pin connector, a PCB, and you can wire that up to MS. $20 and its yours. but you'll still have to figure it out..
Quoted and bolded for very valid points.
I started by making an adapter to the stock harness. Bad idea, it was way more headache. Making a new harness took less time.
I couldn't agree more on the tuning part of your post.

I used the 37pin connector from the kit for the wires, and used a straight 37pin d-dsub male connector for the board side like the one below

    Thanks for info man

yellow "grabber" things help too, especially with holding that diode in.

and this helps too if your hand is too shaky.

Alright what about on the other end? From the 55 pin I see you wired it from the plug they give you in kit

    This?

Build your own MS2 ECU with this unassembled MegaSquirt-2 V3.0 kit. Includes PCB, MS2 card, 2.5 bar MAP sensor, case, and all required components.

I'm trying what you did for sure. when you put the wire in the plug did you put pins on each wire and then essentially plug them in?
