WAR in 413

I have a red war chip Im trying to install in an e36 413 ecu. It has a green adapter board that says key101. Do I need this?

The green adapter board is some sort of encryption board for another brand of chip. Plug the WAR Chip right into the ECU socket, WITHOUT that adapter board.
