    Is megasquirt right for me?

    Need some opinions and suggestions.

    here is my application:
    - '90 325i with M20
    - daily driver summer only (above freezing temps)
    - weekend track car
    - lotsa highway mileage, lotsa city driving

here are the stages i want my MS to follow me through:
1- stock M20 with AFM delete
    2- wasted spark ignition
    3- injectors
4- 3.0L stroker cammed, hi comp, 91 octane
    5- ITBs and exhaust
    * car will never see any form of boost

    my expectations:
1- clean wiring (already gots an motronic adaptor board in the mail)
2- dont want to lose any stock features
3- better response, performance and fuel ecomony vs stock motronic
4- auto tuning works well at each stage of my engine
5- once tuning is done, i want solid reliability and dont want to lug the laptop around on my way to work or at the track
6- dont want to leave more than 5% of the optimal performance on the table vs another EM
7- seemless integration, should be invisible to the non-knowing that there is a standalone running the car, ie no quirks, hicups or weird behaviour at all
8- low cost, max budget is 1g, but much lower would be preferable

    is MS right for me?

Sure, but don't expect auto tuning to do all the work especially when you get to stage 5. It can assist with the initial rough tune, and you will still have to manually tune for spark and dyno time is the only real way for that.

And remember that each upgrade requires additional tuning, so I would group upgrades like 1 & 3, 2 & 4 and 5 is a whole new tune as I believe you will have to go with Alpha-N with ITBs
