    ebay header install question

My stock exhaust manifold on my E30 325i touring has been welded on a few times now, so I picked up an e-bay header.

Without starting another thread about how bad these headers are, I have a quick install question.

I have new wire shields / studs / nuts from BMW. On ther header installs, I've usually coated both sides of the gasket with high heat Permatex gasket maker - this has greatly reduced the tendancies to leak on other applications (which seems to be a major fault for the e-bay headers from a search of this forum)

Can anyone suggest a reason NOT to do use the permatex on the gaskets supplied with the header?

    thanks

What? You plan on using a quality product that has been working on other cars for years to fix an issue putting ebay parts on a BMW?

Next you are gonna say that you will go buy a swivel socket so you can actually torque the nuts properly.

I bet you think the same things I do wen reading those threads...fuck, kids, LEARN something already! Some kind of gasket enhancer (copper based, duh) has got to help this issue, it has been working on shitty Mexican headers for 30 years (thanks, Heddman!) and these headers are better than those by far...fuck man, get it done!
