325 muffler on 318is? Idea I have......

So my exhaust is going out on my 318is and I would like to upgrade to something aftermarket. I don't want just a magnaflow muffler, I would like something with a smooth deep, NO RASP AT ALL sound. I know there's plenty of catbacks for M20's, so I had an idea of getting a M20 muffler and getting a Y collector from Jegs or Summit and weld it onto the muffler. So you could still use your M42 single pipe.

Anyone ever done this? I searched but nothing came up.

you could do it, but I'm not really sure how it would sound. I have a magnaflow and a 20" classpack on mine and it got rid of all rasp except when the exhaust is cold. Its pretty loud what with the complete lack of sound deadening in the 318is though.
