Welded midpipe exhaust bracket vs rubber mount

All three? of my rubber mounting donuts deteriorated and disengaged. I tried wire it up long enough to order an exhaust install kit with new hangers and rubber mounts, locking nuts, etc.

But it kept falling down so I had the muffler shop weld in a midpipe support bracket where the rubber mount was. The install was pretty clean and the bracket screws into the same hole as the bracket for the rubber mount so if I need to drop the exhaust, no problem. The front bracket near the muffler is wired up, but quite well. as it is on the other side bracket near the wheel well.

I intend to order two of the big donuts for the muffler donuts on either side. Question is, can I just leave the welded mid pipe universal hanger or should I unweld it and mount the rubber one?

Any ideas?

Is this question too stupid to warrant any thought? I like the idea of it being welded in, but is it going to cause vibration...etc?

The motor moves, and it'll bend the exhaust, making it crack later, or tear off the mounts. Plus, how the hell do you expect to get it off for servicing the driveline?

As I said above. The welded hanger is attached to the same place, via a screw into the standard rubber hanger's mounting point. Would drop just as easy as if it was on the donut.

Other vehicles have welded exhaust mounts, Im thinking. Why would it bend specifically on a Bimmer?

Bump for some more input. The weld, mount point is on a removeable flange to taking down the exhaust is no problem. Question is.. does it need to "float" or am I ok with it being rather stationary and fixed? Will it cause cracks or fail?
