    Aftermarket "i" Y pipe

Next Summer I'm planning on putting an i head on my eta. Right now I'm looking at getting my exhaust done because the leaks are driving me crazy. While I'm at it, I want to switch to an i exhaust, but I can't find the i Y connection anywhere.

Are there aftermarket options for this? I can't seem to find any used, and the u-pull-it in Gainesville doesn't have any E30s.

    Thanks

There is no "Y" pipe, it's two 1.75" all the way back.

Sorry for bad use of the term "Y" pipe, I just wasn't sure how else to refer to this section of the exhaust. I thought the two pipes were fastened together before the cat, so they still make a Y shape, even though they never merge into one pipe.

That said, am I best to just have a muffler shop make it instead of purchasing this section of exhaust? Anyone have experience with this or would know roughly how much it costs?

      Thanks

That's the cat section, you'd need to get a new one. It shouldn't be too pricey for an aftermarket one which you already have by the sounds of it. Just do it right and don't cheap out.

ahh, ok. Just found it at Bavarian auto for $410. Does this sound right or does anyone know if there is somewhere I can get it cheaper without sacrificing "quality"? I wasn't expecting to drop so much on one section of exhaust.

          Thanks

That's pretty par for the course I think, everything else will be in the same ballpark. Granted, I talk a big game for someone who's IX doesn't have a cat anymore but good luck getting a sticker if you do that...
