Originally the 'turbo' mufflers got the name because turbo cars require less noise damping; the turbo itself acts like a muffler as well. thus, 'turbo-style' mufflers tend to be the straight-through variety. Now, it just kinda means its going to be really loud...

        Completely wrong.

A turbo muffler is NOT a straight though muffler, but a 3 chamber, it flows better then a normal muffler by having a direct route though the 3 chambers in an "S" flow path.

A good cheap one is the Dynamax and IIRC its ~$60 on summitracing.

Just about all turbos are equal as well. There not to loud just nice and mellow and deep. Ive never had them on my E30 but I had flowtec on my duster when I would drive it to the track.

I think you can get flowtec rapptors for like 20 bucks.

Were you not just hating on cheap muffler solutions in another thread? Glasspack, turbo. Only difference on ANY car is tone. They are what autozone calls "performance" mufflers. A-Zone also sells carbon fiber tape that I hear adds 12rwhp.

Summit racing turbo muffler is a great muffler. I would suggest that one if your looking for something cheap and sounds good.
How can you go wrong for 26.50 shipped.

The turbo muffles would be better than the cherry bomb glass packs.
