M52 Exhaust idea

I really probably should be sleeping but Ive been thinking about my motorswap and its exhaust. I wanted to get some ideas on top of my basic plan.

I'm swapping in an M52 obd1 conversion with welded obd2 manifolds into my car. For my 2002 project I already have a bunch of stainless 2.5" exhaust tubing I could use partially.

Plan is to build downtubes from the stock manifolds in 2" stainless down directly to a dual 2" in single 2.5" out magnaflow cat 94037, then through an unknown resonator of some sort and finally a borla 40980.

Where should I install any flex pipe? Two small 2"ers before the cat ? or one right after? Any suggestions for small diameter or low profile hopefully stainless mufflers or resonators that would work well?

No center resonator suggestions? Not looking for just a cherry bomb glasspack though..

i just put a borla on my m50 (turbo, 3'' all the way) and it sounds so perfect that im afraid to add a resonator, i dont want it to change at all.

depending on how stiff your motor and tranny mounts are has an effect on were you place the flex-tube. if they are stiff enough you should be fine with a single behind the cat as long as its a 10'' or 12'' long flex-tube. if the mounts are looser you should get dual 2"ers. i got mine from verosious motorsports and it is a really nice quality.

Ok, so this is my updated plan. Same thing this time, just more detail.

M52 obd1 swap with welded obd2 manifolds (to)
Custom down pipes with 3 bolt flanges at the top. 2" 304 Stainless. Independent pipes all the way, maybe braced. 2x 2" V-band clamps directly to a Magnaflow 94037. On the other side of the cat, a single 2.5" out, attach flex tubing, and a 2.5" v-band clamp. Build exhaust back, resonator using a Stainless works muffler (Here then back to the borla muffler. undecided on a decent exhaust tip though
