    e30 m50 exhaust

I am wondering what the best exhaust setup would be on an m50 swap. I am planning on doing 2.5 back from the headers with an x pipe. What kind of resonator would I need and what would be the best muffler for the job? All of the help is much appreciated.

Haha. I just used OBDII manifolds adapted to the stock M20 dual exhaust. I don't think it really chokes the M50 up much, and it sounds pretty good. Just not obnoxious loud or anything.

I'm thinking that I'm gonna do a y-pipe to a single 2.5 to a magnaflow muffler or some other kind of muffler. Or do dual 2 1/4 fro the headers with an x-pipe in the middle to a dual in dual out muffler. Thoughts?

My car has 2 1/2 single all the way back with a walker super converter and a resinator and a magnaflow 11216. But the cat is going to come out verry soon. Its actually perfect its not to loud and almost no rasp.

I'm goin no cat too because they do not check for that in the emission tests here! I am 93% sure on the 2 1/4 dual from the header back. It will give me really nice flow and the x-pipe will eliminate a lot of rasp that I will be getting and help to give it a nice deep growl.
