muffler opinions

i plan on getting a flowmaster series 40 muffler to replace my oem one on my 90 325i and i want to kno if anyone has any personal experience with them on the m20.

Also ive heard of people removing the resonator on their exhaust. i currently have my exhaust off because of my 5 speed swap so wheres the resonator? (ive located muffler, cat, and manifold)

and is my car a collector because that would be my loophole to remove my cat

ur resonator should be right after the cat. between the cat and muffler. if not then u don't have one. it looks like a smaller muffler

it should sound great with out the muffler. just cut it off. free. and sounds good. thats what i did on my 318

It is SO goddamn loud...I mean the kids fucking LOVE this thing, but it is no fun to live with .

I have the stock manifolds running to a "y" into 2.25" tubing, a aftermarket freeflow cat back to the POS ebay noisebomb.

I will say it is damn fun ripping through a tunnel full throttle at 6500 RPM...

It was on the car when I got it. It sounds truly mean, but I would never want to hear a neighbor have a car this loud.
