    E30 m3 + 318 exhaust

Hey guys... I might be picking up an m3 shortly that needs exhaust work from the headers back. I have a good condition E30 318i (m10) exhaust from my parts car. Do you think it'd work out? I could probably find a flange to fit and I figure they're very close to the same displacement (1.8 & 2.0 vs 2.3) and they use the same size downpipes iirc. Free + Flange + gasket is a hellofalot cheaper than a custom exhaust or some of the insane prices that some companies want for a bolt-on system.

I'll need an exhaust to get it registered and through emissions. It would only be until I had money or the car is smog exempt (25+ years old.. another 3) anyway.

Has anyone heard of this being done? I know it's not ideal, but to me its better to have it on the road than rotting away.

    Thanks.

EDIT: I take part of it back, I forgot that the m3 is dual pipes all the way back and the 318i is just 2>1

Nope. Don't use the M10 exhaust on it.

I wouldn't use a 100hp M10 exhaust on a 190hp S14. It will certainly function as an exhaust, but it will be restrictive no matter how you look at it.
