lol @ 'son' since we are the same age.

If its not legal, then its illegal. No sorta about it.

Maybe you should look up the meaning of 'fuh raze,' I dont think you quite grasp the concept. 28 and looking to add a resonator because of cost?! Might want to rethink the path you are on... Thank you for confirming that you are accustomed to noisy, smelly and slow cars. My vinyl designs never hurt the planet you big meanie! lol

You would be better off welding in a straight section of pipe to get rid of the cabin fumes until you can afford a cat of some variant.

at what point did i say cost was an obstacle? it may be that we're the same age, but you clearly have some growing up to do if this is how you choose to spend your time on the forum. i have conceded that running cat-less may be illegal, so what are you getting at exactly? ooh, dude you totally called me out on that thing that i admitted i was wrong about already 4 post ago. oooh, i'm totally gonna cry myself to sleep tonight! i'll still do it if i'm so inclined, "eff" the planet, and the lawz, brah. lol. if you're so concerned about the environment, get down of your high horse and go help with BP's oil spill.

as far as my previous vehicles go, why don't you do a bit of research, and check out the B5 S4 i drove for the last 5 years. noisy, smelly, and slow? hm, so i was driving an S4 while you're driving an argyle sticker-ed e30 on widened steelies, and you're questioning my choice in vehicles and life path? word, valid point, sick burn!

go ahead and keep making assumptions, i've already deduced that you are an asshole. the last sentence of your post is the first quasi-useful thing i've seen out of you in this thread, so congratulations on that. once again, crap on some other thread, troll.

I am flattered that you spend so much time creating these eloquent responses. I dont care enough or give two craps what you have driven etc. Yeah, I kill time on the forum as I am waiting in class etc. No troll here, I said my peace and you came out with the dickhead comment. Meh, still shows me that you are a moron going catless on a street car. Its the internet and everyone has an opinion, deal with it big guy. ;-*

Keeping a ~25 year old car on the road with or without cats is FAR better for the environment then buying a new one every few years.

No doubt. Oh noes, running cat-less is going to kill the environment despite the fact that less than ~30% of greenhouse gasses which come from VEHICLES ALONE (which are in the minority of the grand scheme of GHG emissions) are light passenger vehicle related.

Not to mention the majority of GHG that are 'poisonous' are *gasp* water vapor and co2. Fuck, you mean that stuff that makes up 90% of my body? and the stuff that comes out of my lungs when I breathe?!?!??!?!?! HOW WILL I EVER SURVIVE IN A WORLD OF CAT-LESS E30's?!?!?!?!?!

You could throw in a resonator to try and break up an exhaust drone instead of using a straight pipe. Removing the cat aint no big thang, and anything at all will be quieter (and better) than what you're using now. If you want to be legal, you might have to install a cat. converter depending on your local laws.

Seven to 10 tons of material must be processed to produce one ounce of platnium. Not to mention stainless steel, ceramic material, transportation, fuel, electric, various waste materials, etc.

for fucks sake. Just do whatever the fuck you want. You obviously know everything so why are you asking the forum? I can promise you, you will not get any benefits from going cat less unless you are f/i or have some serious engine work to need the flow rate benefit. Cat's were built into the exhaust system and i'm sure you must know more then those dumb ass bmw engineers that spent countless man hours and dollers designing and flow testing exhaust systems.
