Question about using a 31is muffler on a 325is

I know it sounds like a stupid idea. Im just curious to know what the drawbacks of using a single inlet muffler on a 325is. Power will be lost correct? Thanks

edit: dont know how to edit the titel but I meant to say 318is. I wanna know if power will be lost if I use a single pipe 318is muffler on my 325is. Thanks

Can somebody please help me out with this. I dont want to buy a muffler for a 318 just to find out ill loose power.
