Go on YouTube and search spec E30 exhaust.

My car has a 2.5 inch catback w/straight through vibrant muffler.
It's a little loud when I get on the gas.
If someone is in the car with me it can be a little annoying
But other than that I like it.

And since your in socal, don't bother DD a straight pipe car you'll get pulled.

I bought my ebay muffler purely to draw focus away from the engine noise.
Pretty much the same as linked above only the body of the muffler is black.

Mounted it upside down (wasn't feeling the upturned tips sticking so far out the car) and by luck, the tips angle matches the valance angle. So turned out looking nice and flush.
And the width fills the exhaust hole/gap nicely too.

Sound wise, it does sound quite loud inside the car, nothing droney or anything. Just loud. But outside it has a nice note. Nice and deep (nothing too 'cannon' deep), and doesn't get rice raspy at high revs. Recommended!

                hehehe.

BTW: A straightpiped no cat M20 is one of the greatest sounds my ears have ever heard.

But it was loud as shit and many people who don't appreciate cars will think you're a very annoying douchebag.

i bought a ebay e30 specific dual 2" cat back (no brand name) for my e30 s50 and it sounds great. im running dual 2" all the way back starting from ebay headers to a Borla resonator, to the ebay catback muffler. i personally think it sounds really good and its not loud at all. i wanted to make sure it wasnt stupid loud since i use to daily it before the accident.

Im actually thinking of going single pipe, 2.5", with res and cat to quiet her down. But right now im just obnoxious wit it.

I just did it last week .

Ordered a muffler from ebay & had it put on.

Personally i think it sounds amazing .

I will be posting a video & some pictures of it tomorrow.
