Catback and exhaust question

I'm looking to replace my exhaust an have been hearing that if I want a real change in note that I shoul get an aftermarket cat. On my 87 325is my cat is double inlet double outlet. Do I have to find another cat that is double inlet? Or is there some type of adapter? I am under the impression have have to find one that is double inlet and outlet and I can't find any. If you know of any please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Magnaflow makes one. You could also go dual inlet single out. Easier to do a full system that way. Whats your budget?

i dont want to spend more than 250 for a cat but am willing to go to 300. and i am only willing to spend about 150-200 for exhaust. so for cat and exhaust i dont want to exeed 500 and that is pushing my budget. could you tell me where to find this magnaflow one? And is it easy to find dual ins single outs because i was considering that.

Unless you have your heart set on a muffler that only bolts up to a factory style cat i'd recommend just going with a single exhaust. 2.25-2.5 depending on ground clearance and performance goals. If your keeping the motor pretty much stock a 2.25 should be fine. Check out the so cal tarbo thread for my upcoming line of exhaust.
