After reading through threads I understand that going to a single 2.5" may help increase flow/sound but without headers is this a moot point?

I am debating buying an aftermarket cat with a single 2.5" in/out and running a mandrel bent system back to muffler. Will I notice any sound or performance gain going this route? Or just buy a cat back exhaust and use existing stock cat and split system?

As for choice of the cat, I live in california so I believe the MF 36037 is my option but would either 33007 or 38037 work as well? The 36037 & 38037 have an O2 sensor plug while the 33007 does not. Since the O2 is in the downpipe do you just put a plug in the cat or is this a viable spot to put an Air/Fuel ratio sensor in?

Any plans on a swap or turbo? if not just save your time and money and toss on an ebay muffler. Under $200 and it bolts right up
