    Exhaust Piping size/Cat Question

Well, I have a Stebro catback right now, everything from the cat to front is stock. I wanted to replace the heavy center section with 2 small metal cats, but still keeping the original pipe size. Here is a link to the Magnaflow cats I had in mind. I have no experience with any type of high flow cat metal or ceramic, so any opinions would be great. :http://www.magnaflow.com/02catalytic...versal/500.asp

They sell on ebay for $76 or best offer, so I would need 2, and shipping to Canada is $16. So, Im guessing an approx $145-$165 for both shipped depending on the sellers best price. What size cat I/O diameter would I need the 1.75" im guessing? Correct me if that is wrong..

Also, what is the weight of an OEM section? Im guessing between 45lbs and 55lbs?? I would like to think that with the setup it will be at least cut in half due to the small size of the cats.

Overall does this sound like a reasonable setup or will these cats make it abnoxiously loud?

Thanks for any input/opinions on this setup.

Magnaflow makes a full replacement cat section. Search their partnumber 23554. It can be bought, ready to bolt on for $323.
1990 325is - sterling silver, very nice, maybe for sale

Thank, I never seen this before or heard of it over the forums. If its a high flow cat it sounds interesting. So it goes from 2 into 1 then back out to 2, is this more efficient than just running dual pipes with dual cats?

I just checked summitracing for the magnaflow 23554, shipped to my door is $540. I think it may to steep just for a center section..

Why not just use their dual in dual out cat. Its like $100

Magnaflow doesnt make a dual in dual out metal cat only ceramic core. I wanted to go metalic and the only options are the one I posted above. They are very small and would fit easily and lightweight. Just wanted to see if anyone had experience

Would this 2" dual in/out work with oe size pipes?
