Thoughts on this exhaust set up?

This will be on an M20B25 but an eta body. It'll go like this:

eBay headers (ill do my best to get them to fit while the engine is out of the car)
Y Pipe
Eta Cat (I dunno if this is smart or not, I just don't want to buy a new cat)
2.5" custom piping to Dynomax or other muffler.

Other options would be ebay headers to custom piping and then an 2 in one or two out magnflowcat, then muffler. Only problem with this is price.

Or I could jus buy a stock I exhaust and cut/weld a new muffler on. I dunno how it would sound.

I recently picked up that exact setup second-hand to use on our eta LeMons car. The guy we bought it from said he really liked the sound, not too loud but with a good aggressive tone. He used a Magnaflow muffler though.

Was the exhaust used in a 325i or e? I'm just afraid that the catalytic converter might be a bit too restricting.
