    school me on teh exhaust

I'm contemplating on pulling the trigger on a magnaflow 14185 because I heard they're the most bang for the buck.
I wanna get solely the muffler vs. the entire exhaust system setup because i'm going more for just sound. Besides i don't think it's worth shelling out another grand for a couple hp gain.
--So I'm on a college budget, magnaflow 14185 with stock pipes a go or no go?
thoughts on drone, cold starts, and quality of sound would be helpful.
(keep in mind i'm 18 and loud exhausts don't bother me a bit):-P
    TIA

    Ameet

prime. that's exactly what i'm going for.
it's a single in, dual out, so i probably need a y-adaptor for install right?

        You'll need a y-pipe for it.
Keep your cat or it can get raspy above 3-4rpm.
Assuming you have an m20b25, you won't drone if you keep it above 2.5rpm while cruising.

i don't plan on running catless, especially with gayass cali cops lol
you think it'll attract unwanted attention from the po though?

Only if you're on the pedal yea. If you're just cruising it's a nice low rumble that usually gets compliments I suppose.

I think the 14845 is a single tip are you talking about the twin tip 14815 that most people use? I just removed one from my M20. It sounded ok but, wasn't quite what I was looking for. Mine was a 2in inlet y pipe to the muffler out from the stock pipes. It had some drone under 3k rpm but above 3k at cruise it was relatively quiet.
