Magnaflow 325e?
okay, so i want to put a magnaflow muffler on my e30. it has a 3in inlet and outlet. will putting a 2.25 adapter to the 3in inlet has any negitive affect on the way the muffler sounds?? should i do this adapter closer to the cat? also will this muffler be loud enough or should i take my Resonator out or punch my cat through/? ive heard these mufflers and cars such as G37 and challenger and they sound amazing... since my engine is different than this motors will it sound like crap? this is the muffler i want on my car. http://lasvegas.craigslist.org/pts/2634270078.html thank you any advice is helpful.

In my opinion the only time a BMW inline 6 can sound bad is if you are running open downpipes. A car I used to have had the most hacked together cheap ebay single exhaust garbage on it and it sounded marvelous. You should be able to find plenty of Youtube vids to get an idea of what it might sound like. -
yeah, i cut the muffler off already and soon to relies BMW's aren't made to idle like a truck. and is considered not classly lol. my friends g37 w/magnaflows cold start is like a ear gasmen. at idle its a nnice deep sound and when he floors his car it sounds like a space car haha. i hope my E30 will sound somewhat similar.Comment

Just run the adapter right at the muffler, or get the right size muffler.
Try it without removing the cat/resonator and see how you like it.
Please don't compare the M20 to a G37 or Challenger. They are absolutely and totally different.Comment

going to best muffler shop today to figure this out. hopefully the guys over here have some suggestions for the sound i want. if the muffler doesnt sound the way i like, can i remove the Res for more noise lol ?Comment

ive changed my mind on what i want. I want to straight pipe from my left manifold down to the magnaflow bullet muffler and they out the side with single in/dual out magnaflow chrome tips. and the exact same thing on the other side, exhaust peeking out right in front of the rear wheels. i know it will be loud. but is it going to be stupid loud even to a person who likes loud mufflers? or should i go with only one side? (right side since thats were my two manifold pipes go into one. and then i can use just a res, magnaflow bullet muffler and the tips exiting the right side. One more option would be a dual S.P to the muffler and then to the back of the car and have it look like a M3 qaud exhaust? but the back end isn't really set up for that so it might look ricer. I would have to have a rear valence made to make the exhaust look good . i want the stock tube size. does anyone know a fairly round about price for a job like this? Best muffler shop wont take my cat off and wont work with it off. otherwise those guy would for sure have my bmw right now.Comment
