    O2 bung size

    Hello r3v,

A friend and I bought a cheap chinese oem replacement exhaust pieces to get our 325i street legal asap. A problem we have run into is the size of the O2 bung. The sensor on the car currently appears to be a replacement and the usual 18mm size. The hole on the catted pipe is 20mm.

What would you guys recommend we do to get the two pieces to mate. Best we can come up with is get a 20mm plug, drill and tap it for 18mm. Put the plug in the bung and screw the O2 sensor into the plug. Other thought is to just plug up the current bung, and weld in a new 18mm bung.

    Thanks,

      Sounds like the easiest plan.
