Best muffler for straight pipes?

I removed my cat from the stock 325i exhaust in hope of getting some more sound but it hasn't made a big difference. I'm looking for a muffler now, but worried that the usual suspects (Magnaflow 14815, Supermax Turbo) would be too loud due to the removed cat.

Any suggestions? I'm also considering putting in resonators instead of mufflers, but I dunno how loud that could be.

What are you looking for exactly? Something relatively quiet? My 21" Dynomax SuperTurbo is extremely quiet.

if you wanted more sound, you started at the wrong end of the exhaust.

"The middle" isn't an end, unless it's got rust holes in it.

I don't mind something loud, but I don't want something that drones very annoyingly.

Wasn't the best plan but the new engine had nothing but cut off headers on it, so I bought a 325i stock catback exhaust and fabbed it up. Cheap and I was hoping for a bit more sound out of it, but I didn't get as much as I wanted.

I have a single 2.5" straight pipe, y pipe a little after the headers, to a magnaflow 14815 and its really loud, sounds pretty good, but it has a lot of rasp around 3k, Im thinking of putting a good size resonator to die it down and hopefully take some rasp away.... the startup sounds amazing tho :p

Any chance I could get a video clip? I'm assuming yours will be sligtly louder than mine due to the 2.5" piping.

Everyone swears by dynomax for M42s and M10s but I have yet to hear any on M20 engines.
